OMEGA will be present at the 37th ^America ‘s Cup to cheer on Emirates Team New Zealand as they strive to defeat their rivals and retain the oldest international sporting trophy.

OMEGA’s partnership with the crew began 30 years ago, during the 1995 America’s Cup, when it collaborated with the legendary Sir Peter Blake, then captain of Team New Zealand.

For the brand with legendary precision, the timing was, once again, perfect: the New Zealanders won the trophy that year, and three times since, in 2000, 2017 and 2021.

This partnership, which continues and evolves today, has inspired the creation and launch of some of OMEGA’s most impressive watches, such as the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition unveiled this year, which combines deep black with the vibrant turquoise of the Emirates Team New Zealand logo.

For OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann, this relationship is a symbiotic one: “Winning a competition like the America’s Cup requires passion, focus, determination, teamwork and a willingness to embrace the most promising new technologies. This year, the two opponents will compete on sailboats that literally have wings: high-tech AC75 monohulls that can exceed the crazy speed of 50 knots, or 100 km/h, thanks only to the power of the wind.

Sentiments echoed by Grant Dalton, Managing Director of America’s Cup Events and Emirates Team New Zealand: “To win, a crew needs to be supported by a united team. OMEGA has been an integral part of Team New Zealand for many years, through victory and defeat. We are delighted to be reuniting with the brand for this new adventure here in Barcelona, and to try to make history by becoming the first to win the America’s Cup three times in a row.”
