When we talk with Michel Haddi, we talk about the future. Michel always sees ahead, like us. He is a legendary photographer because of his photographic vision. He has immortalized several celebrities (Kate Moss, Tupac Shakur … to name a few) with a different angle, a perfect mastery of shadow and light, everything is a question of angle and emotion in my opinion. He has this natural genius to capture and sublimate the moment.

It’s impossible to summarize his artistic career because words would be too bland, in my opinion. All you have to do is contemplate, observe, listen, and read, because Michel Haddi also publishes beautiful books and magazines with his wonderful team. The “Art Basel & UBS Art Market Report 2025” confirms a profound transformation of the global art market. While the total value of sales declined by 12% in 2024, transaction volume increased by 3%, reaching more than 40.5 million sales. This contrast illustrates a major shift: growth is now concentrated in the most accessible segments.

Key figures from the UBS / Art Basel 2025 report :

  • Major works (+10M $): -39% in volume, market share down from 23% to 18%.
  • Intermediate works (50K – 1M $): stable, but under buyer caution.
  • Affordable works (<$5K): +7% in value, +13% in volume.
  • New buyers: 44% of buyers were new in 2024, primarily young forty-somethings looking for small, accessible works, both in terms of price and comprehension. Pop art, which features icons, particularly appeals to this new generation of collectors.

Furthermore, 52% of acquisitions involved works by emerging or new artists, reinforcing the interest in accessibility and novelty (Artsy).

Main motivations:

  • 96.3% buy for personal pleasure.
  • 87% to support the talents they love.
  • Only 7% consider investment an important factor (MyArtBroker).

Closures of traditional art galleries mark the transition

The recent closure of iconic New York galleries, such as Kasmin Gallery (after 35 years of operation) and Blum Galleries, which closed in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, as well as Clearing Gallery NY, shocked the art world. But these events, which also took place in major capitals across five continents, confirm that the traditional “old-fashioned” model must evolve to keep pace with the expectations of a new generation of collectors.

7Art Concept Store: anticipating change

Art after Covid-19: 7Art Concept Store, a new generation of galleries is born

 » The Covid-19 crisis marked a decisive turning point in the art world. For more than 18 months, our galleries in Paris (Hôtel Royal Monceau) and London (Four Seasons Ten Trinity) remained closed. This ordeal highlighted a profound change among collectors. We then understood that a new generation of buyers was emerging: younger, more curious, in search of works that resembled them and reflected their times. This generation no longer recognized itself in the rigid and intimidating codes of traditional galleries. It was at this moment that we made a visionary decision: to reinvent the art gallery model.

We designed a new, accessible and authentic offering, featuring works for less than $5,000, whereas our average was previously around $20,000. The immediate success of this approach confirmed our intuition: art had to leave its elitist temples and enter the daily lives of all those who love creation. Today, with 7ART Concept Store, we embody this breakthrough: a new generation of galleries that makes art closer, more understandable, more affordable, while remaining demanding and signed by emerging or established artists. For over two centuries, Bugatti has offered some of the finest roadsters ever created. Jean Bugatti was behind many of these models. Created between the mid-1920s and the late 1930s, Bugatti roadsters were produced in small numbers with an absolute quest for perfection. Among them: the Type 40 A, the Type 41 Roadster Esders, the Type 55 Roadster and the emblematic Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid Gangloff.

A true tour de force, the W16 Mistral1, is an evocative, powerful and memorable vehicle in many ways. It is, after all, the first Bugatti roadster since the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, presented in 2012, and the last road appearance of the brand’s legendary W16 engine. It was therefore important that the development of the W16 Mistral should focus on absolute engineering excellence and embody more than just a reinterpretation of the Chiron2.

Built around the 1,600 PS W16 engine, the W16 Mistral offers craftsmanship and luxury that no other roadster can match. Its design and engineering have been completely rethought.

The monocoque has been redesigned and reconfigured to create a more rounded silhouette and meet strict safety regulations, including those for a roofless vehicle.

That’s why the Bugatti team had to work hard to design a dynamic vehicle with cutting-edge engineering combining performance, comfort, safety, handling and ease of driving.

Emilio Scervo: “One of the main challenges was to create a roadster capable of reaching speeds of up to 260.98 mph, and to combine this performance with a luxurious and refined experience offering great safety to the driver.”

To achieve this goal, it has never been more important to put into practice Bugatti’s philosophy that “form follows performance“. With this in mind, every component was designed both to push the limits in terms of aesthetics and to achieve totally new levels of performance. The challenge was to make the roadster’s structure as rigid and light as possible, so that the driving experience would be similar to that of a Chiron.

True to its Bugatti roadster roots, the W16 Mistral is a dynamic, agile and responsive hyper-sportive, which required the development team to use lightweight, ultra-high-performance composite materials and complex structures to reduce vehicle weight while increasing chassis rigidity. This same approach was adopted for the doors of the W16 Mistral, another key element in the development. They feature an innovative frame structure that enables them to absorb an exceptional amount of energy in the event of a side impact, ensuring the safety of driver and passenger.

A new, highly advanced air intake system has been specially created for the W16 Mistral to match its new exterior design. For example, innovative air intake vents located behind the headrests have been designed and developed with stringent – but essential – safety tests in mind. Each “mouth” is made from a bespoke carbon-fibre structure capable of supporting the full weight of the car in the event of a rollover. This new air intake configuration also enriches the W16 driver’s experience, enhancing the musicality of the legendary 8-liter engine. An auditory sensation unrivalled in the automotive world.

Nevertheless, the sound on board the W16 Mistral is not limited to the roar of the W16 engine, it is also accompanied by a top-of-the-range audio system developed specifically for the roadster. Listening to music on board the W16 Mistral becomes an incomparable pleasure, even when it’s hurtling along at high speed, playing with the powerful wind from which it takes its name.

Inside the W16 Mistral, woven leather covers the newly designed door panels, meticulously tested and produced to Bugatti quality standards. In a nod to the W16 Mistral’s illustrious predecessors, the gearshift – machined from a solid block of aluminum – pays homage to Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous “Dancing Elephant” sculpture. THE FINESSE OF CURVES

The new Arnold & Son  Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton is defined by its ultra-slim profile and its graceful curves and wide apertures. Its new case, with a diameter of 41.5 mm and a thickness of 8.4 mm, presents the flying tourbillon caliber A&S8320 in its purest expression.

The Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton collection, adorned in red gold (5N) red gold or platinum (PT 950), is issued in two limited series featuring 28 watches apiece. Encased in this precious housing, Arnold & Son’s flying tourbillon stands out for its finesse and precision. 

Its finesse is revealed in the caliber’s ultra-slim profile. Measuring just 3.3 mm thick, it is one of the slimmest skeleton tourbillon calibers in existence. The one-minute flying tourbillon attests to the caliber’s precision, assembled with a variable-inertia balance for enhanced calibration stability. 

RADIATING ORIGINALITY

A skeletonized movement can convey a mood or a message – chaotic, orderly, geometric, or minimal. Here, elegance is the watchword. The curvilinear skeletonized caliber reveals pronounced arcs and numerous inflection points highlighted by an original finish. On both the Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton Red Gold and Platinum, the bridges are decorated with radiating Côtes de Genève stripes and treated with rose-gold PVD (4N).

The flange around the caliber adopts this same finish, clearly revealing the Arnold & Son signature at 6 o’clock and enabling the off-centered white opal dial to be displayed in its purest form. 
 

GOLDEN CARRIAGE

At the heart of Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton beats the A&S8320 caliber, whose elegant architecture and slim profile are its principal attributes. Designed without an upper bridge to minimize its thickness, the caliber is classed as a flying tourbillon. 

The variable-inertia balance with inertia blocks ensures more precise calibration over time. The slender triangular carriage is supported by a double arrow, which is actually a counterpoise. The arrowhead on the staff of the escape wheel serves as a seconds pointer, as the carriage completes one rotation per minute. 
 

PERFORMANCE RESERVE

The changes to the tourbillon carriage and regulating organ give the A&S8320 caliber a power reserve of 100 hours. While this is a larger power reserve than for standard tourbillons, particularly slim ones, it is entirely in line with the performance regularly achieved by Arnold & Son calibers.

We’ve all dreamed of those Formula 1s cruising at top speed on Canadian lakes. Those nautical cigars of the ’30s, tapered like hilltops splitting the water in two, the varnish on the mahogany decks gleaming in the sun’s golden glare.

They paved the way for runabouts like Riva in Italy and on the French Riviera, an invitation to the dream of being like an aviator flying over water.

In Canada, near Toronto, there’s an exceptional boatyard where you can either have your boat restored, or have a brand-new model hand-built to your exact specifications ! This is the Peter & Jeffrey Breen shipyard. The Peter Breen Antique & Classic Boat Co. is located near Rockwood, Ontario.

When you enter the boatyard’s workshops, the scent of varnish and mahogany invites you on a journey of “handmade” craftsmanship: sanding, screwing, nailing and gluing with a meticulousness worthy of the masters of marine carpentry.

Templates and plans on the wall, bronze or chrome parts, bows, multitudes of parts awaiting their moment of glory by being deposited on boat models, each more marvelous than the last. Each carpenter knows exactly how to make the gestures, to feel the boat taking shape under his fingers, moving towards perfection.

Peter Breen Antique and Classic Boat Company Ltd. specializes in the restoration and reproduction of Muskoka-built boats. Over the past 45 years, they have completed 46 complete restorations, 19 new builds and countless repairs and refurbishments. From launchers to race boats, Ditchburns to Baby Gars, multi-year projects to routine varnish and engine installations, they offer a wide range of services to the wooden boat community. Their reputation as a premier builder and restorer extends across North America, and their boats can be found in many provinces and states.

In addition to models undergoing restoration, we’ve chosen to show you 3 models made in Peter Breen’s yard. Welcome to the imaginary world of Gatsby the Magnificent, but this time in a boat, not a car !

The Apprenticeship

Jeffrey Breen built this boat on his spare time between 2013 and 2016. The hull design is based off Ditchburn’s Rainbow 3, which was one of the most successful raceboats of the 1920’s. It was built to serve as a Sales Tool to show potential clients the end result of having a custom boat created.

At 25′ overall, this boat features an extended rear deck, covered forward cockpit, curved engine hatches with arrow-ended hinges, and crocodile upholstery. An outboard rudder assembly with drag-link steering gives ‘sports car’ maneuverability. The goal was to create a sports car on water. Powered with a Entec Racing 350 cu. in. V-8, the Apprenticeship cruises effortlessly well into the 55 mph range.

The hardware and styles are blends of new and old, both borrowed from the past and fabricated from scratch with wood patterns and bronze castings. Jeffrey’s first ground-up build took top honours on a North America boatshow tour including wins in Tavares, Florida, and Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, and was featured in many publications including the cover boat for the 2020 Classic Boating Calendar.

Margaret Shirley

Allan & T.C. Weisberg commisonned this 30- month project in 2017. After owning 2 original Muskoka boats, they decided they’d like a custom boat, fully suited to all their needs.

At 31′ overall, this modified John Hacker designed hull cruises beautifully at all speeds. Dual gas tanks provide long range for excursions, and her elegant design carries six passengers comfortably.

This high-out 570 HP Ilmor MV8 provides plenty of power, regardless of the load. Every aspect of this craft is custom. From the sand-casted bronze hardware, to the book-matched mahogany deck with exposed copper screw heads, to the “bobtail” transom.

Thunder

This “gentleman’s racer” was custom ordered by the late, great Michael J. Thompson in 1999. Mike wanted a fast wooden boat with sex appeal, and Thunder  provides both. Thunder has participated in Boat shows across North America from Florida to Idaho. These boats are made to use, and this boat is proof of that.

At 27.5′ overall, Thunder is based off Ditchburn’s ”Ranbow III” which was one of the most successful and iconic raceboats of the era.

Built in a 4-seat cockpit configuration, with a forward additonal cockpit, Thunder can carry 5-6 passengers with ease. Powered with a 502 cu. in. V-8, Thunder ‘s performance matches her appearance.

Notable hardware includes an outboard rudder assembly, a vernier aircraft throttle, & tilting period steering wheel. At 20 years old, and having been used as much or more than any boat in Muskoka, this boat’s perfect condition is a testament to their construction method and uncompromising level of workmanship.

Ducati and Bentley are proud to jointly announce a new limited-edition motorcycle that celebrates the best of both iconic brands: the Ducati Diavel for Bentley. Born of collaboration between the two manufacturers, the project links Ducati and Bentley with a vision of performance, craftsmanship and exclusivity. The result is a striking synthesis of technology, style and performance capable of making enthusiasts dream. The bike was revealed to the public at a design event during Art Basel week in Miami Beach.

On the sophisticated technical basis of the high-performance, comfortable Diavel V4, Ducati has incorporated many of the styling features of the Bentley Batur – A limited edition model hand-built by Bentley – To create a motorcycle that is unique in terms of elegance and design. The Diavel for Bentley will be created in a limited numbered series of 500+50 units, the latter reserved for Bentley customers.

The Centro Stile Ducati, in collaboration with Bentley designers, has created a new design for this special motorcycle, inspired by the Batur, from which it takes the predominantly horizontal lines of the side view. The sophisticated and refined Scarab Green color, rich in metallic nuances, comes from the Bentley Mulliner palette and is used throughout the bodywork.

The decisive, aggressive lines of the Diavel V4 have also been thoroughly revised through the technical components : Many of the Batur’s characteristic elements have been incorporated into various parts of the bike. The forged rims, designed and created for this bike, recall the shapes of the car’s and are painted in Dark Titanium Satin, revealing some machined surfaces.

The side air intakes echo the two-tone grille, one of the Batur’s most recognizable features. The triangular rear extractors refer to the corresponding elements of the car. The front mudguard, fairing and top view of the fuel tank recall the ribs of the front hood, while the single-seater tail, which can be replaced by a passenger seat, takes many stylistic cues from the double-layer extractor at the rear of the car.

Many body components are made of high-quality carbon fiber (fenders, headlamp covers, engine, exhaust and radiator, radiator shrouds, side panels, rear piece).

The driver’s seat, in black Alcantara, is inspired by the car’s interior and is precision-worked to reveal the underlying red fabric with the same texture as the Batur seats, and with the Bentley logo embroidered on the rear cushion. The double-exit exhaust, with its cover, has been redesigned to harmonize with the refined lines of the motorcycle.

The Batur is Bentley’s most powerful production car ever, with a 730hp twin-turbo W12 engine, produced in just 18 examples. What’s more, the Batur combines Bentley’s benchmark craftsmanship with a sculpted, muscular body that defines a new design DNA for Bentley and prefigures a new design direction for the brand. The visual message is one of power and elegance, without ostentation or excess. The 18 examples of the Batur are individually handcrafted by Mulliner, the world’s oldest coachbuilder and Bentley’s bespoke division.

In addition to the 500 Diavel models for Bentley, Ducati is also offering a series of just 50 models, called Diavel for Bentley Mulliner. The 50 Diavel for Bentley Mulliner will be available exclusively to Bentley customers, who, thanks to direct collaboration with the designers at Centro Stile Ducati, will be able to configure their Diavel for Bentley Mulliner with different colors for the seat, front brake calipers, carbon fiber parts and wheels. They will also be able to choose the same color as their car for the body parts, or one of those from the exclusive palette selected by the Crewe-based company’s designers.

The Diavel for Bentley, like all vintage Ducati, comes with a certificate of authenticity, a passenger seat and a motorcycle cover. The model name and production number of the unit are engraved on a plate inserted in the carbon-fiber cover of the vertical head, on the right-hand side of the bike. The instrument panel, fitted as standard with a turn-by-turn navigator, and the LED matrix in the rear light cluster offer a special animation at ignition that makes the Diavel for Bentley even more recognizable. Finally, each Diavel for Bentley will be delivered in an exclusive, personalized wooden box.

The collaboration between the two manufacturers has also led to the creation of a Capsule Collection, reserved for Diavel for Bentley owners, which allows customers to complete their look with a limited edition helmet and technical jacket (available in men’s and women’s versions), characterized by a color scheme that reflects that of the motorcycle.

The Diavel for Bentley adopts the 1,158 cm3 Granturismo V4 engine, a central element of its design and at the same time a highly refined technical choice. Powerful (168 hp), rich in torque, but also extremely light and compact, it is fluid, smooth and usable from the lowest revs. The Twin Pulse combustion sequence, combined with the dedicated exhaust system, unequivocally characterizes the exhaust note.

Customer deliveries of the new Diavel for Bentley will begin in summer 2024.

U.S. pricing will be $70,000 for the Diavel for Bentley and $90,000 for the Diavel for Bentley Mulliner.

Canadian prices will be $80,000 for the Diavel for Bentley and $105,000 for the Diavel for Bentley Mulliner. The suggested retail price includes the Capsule Collection jacket and helmet, exclusively for North America.

Swivelling the watch case to its reverse side reveals a majestic dragon surrounded by golden clouds. Engraved into the pink gold case metal, the dragon seems to leap out from the background of glossy black Grand Feu enamel. The polished surfaces of the dragon’s body, the fine details of its scales – hand-drawn with black rhodium – and the contrasting sandblasted texture of the clouds catch and refract the light to enhance the illusion of movement and power.

The signature swivelling case of the Reverso was conceived as an ingenious solution to the problem of protecting the dial and glass of the watch when worn on the polo field. However, soon after its launch in 1931, the Reverso was adopted by tastemakers from all walks of life, transcending its original sporting purpose. Moreover, it quickly became apparent that the blank metal of the case back was an ideal canvas for artistic expression, offering limitless potential to craft timepieces of rare beauty. In 2023 Jaeger-LeCoultre adds a new chapter to this story of craftsmanship and artistry: the Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Dragon’.

Created to coincide with Chinese New Year, the new timepiece pays tribute to the Year of the Dragon, and to the talents of the master enamellers and engravers in the Métiers Rares™ atelier of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.

To maximise the sense of volume and depth, the master engraver used a technique called modelled engraving, an exacting skill that requires absolute focus and remarkable dexterity. Adding to the challenge, the engraver’s work began not, as is usual, with a bare metal surface but with one that already had its coat of Grand Feu enamel, thus requiring an unprecedented accuracy of gesture to avoid all risk of damage to the pristine enamel.

Using 10 differently sized chisels to sculpt the metal step by step, the master engraver devoted 80 hours to the creation of this masterpiece. The dial of the Reverso Tribute Enamel features the same opaque black Grand Feu enamel as the case-back. The elegant simplicity of the Reverso Tribute dial, with its faceted appliqué hour-markers, chemin de fer minutes track and Dauphine hands, places full value on the beauty of the glowing black background.

The apparent simplicity of the pure black enamel is deceptive because in Grand Feu enamelling, the outcome of the firing process is never entirely predictable. To create a black of such depth and richness requires five or six layers of enamel, with each new layer followed by firing and cooling – representing no less than 24 working hours (16 hours for the case-back and eight hours for the dial) over the course of many days. This was followed by half a day of polishing to achieve a perfect, uniform shine.

That the two surfaces are perfectly matched in colour and purity is testament to a degree of skill that can be acquired only through many years of experience. Jaeger-LeCoultre remains one of very few watch Manufactures to have its own in-house enamelling atelier, safeguarding and advancing this ancient craft.

Created to celebrate the Chinese Zodiac Year and made only to order, the Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Dragon’ is testament to La Grande Maison’s vision of culture and creativity, where the artistic crafts live in perfect harmony with the technical expertise of the Manufacture’s watchmakers.
