Aspen, CO (June 27, 2025) — Oliver Smith Jeweler is proud to announce the debut of a new watch boutique in partnership with OMEGA, the prestigious Swiss watchmaker. The boutique arrives just in time for Aspen’s bustling summer season—and ahead of the highly anticipated return of Watch Week Aspen in early August. Located at 400 East Hyman Avenue in the heart of Aspen, Colorado, the new boutique is set against the iconic backdrop of Aspen’s luxurious shopping and cultural scene and marks an exciting new chapter in Oliver Smith Jeweler’s history.

The Omega Aspen boutique is a striking new addition to the Swiss watchmaker’s global network of luxury retail destinations, underscoring the brand’s continued investment in the western U.S. market. Guests will be able to explore a curated selection of OMEGA’s most iconic timepieces, including models from the Seamaster, Speedmaster, Constellation, and De Ville collections. Visitors to the Aspen Omega boutique will also be among the first to see the new 30mm Aquaterra, debuted to the world just this week. The boutique reflects OMEGA’s distinctive design codes, including its signature OMEGA red displays and immersive experiences that celebrate the brand’s legacy of precision, innovation, and contemporary style.

We’ve all dreamed of those Formula 1s cruising at top speed on Canadian lakes. Those nautical cigars of the ’30s, tapered like hilltops splitting the water in two, the varnish on the mahogany decks gleaming in the sun’s golden glare.

They paved the way for runabouts like Riva in Italy and on the French Riviera, an invitation to the dream of being like an aviator flying over water.

In Canada, near Toronto, there’s an exceptional boatyard where you can either have your boat restored, or have a brand-new model hand-built to your exact specifications ! This is the Peter & Jeffrey Breen shipyard. The Peter Breen Antique & Classic Boat Co. is located near Rockwood, Ontario.

When you enter the boatyard’s workshops, the scent of varnish and mahogany invites you on a journey of “handmade” craftsmanship: sanding, screwing, nailing and gluing with a meticulousness worthy of the masters of marine carpentry.

Templates and plans on the wall, bronze or chrome parts, bows, multitudes of parts awaiting their moment of glory by being deposited on boat models, each more marvelous than the last. Each carpenter knows exactly how to make the gestures, to feel the boat taking shape under his fingers, moving towards perfection.

Peter Breen Antique and Classic Boat Company Ltd. specializes in the restoration and reproduction of Muskoka-built boats. Over the past 45 years, they have completed 46 complete restorations, 19 new builds and countless repairs and refurbishments. From launchers to race boats, Ditchburns to Baby Gars, multi-year projects to routine varnish and engine installations, they offer a wide range of services to the wooden boat community. Their reputation as a premier builder and restorer extends across North America, and their boats can be found in many provinces and states.

In addition to models undergoing restoration, we’ve chosen to show you 3 models made in Peter Breen’s yard. Welcome to the imaginary world of Gatsby the Magnificent, but this time in a boat, not a car !

The Apprenticeship

Jeffrey Breen built this boat on his spare time between 2013 and 2016. The hull design is based off Ditchburn’s Rainbow 3, which was one of the most successful raceboats of the 1920’s. It was built to serve as a Sales Tool to show potential clients the end result of having a custom boat created.

At 25′ overall, this boat features an extended rear deck, covered forward cockpit, curved engine hatches with arrow-ended hinges, and crocodile upholstery. An outboard rudder assembly with drag-link steering gives ‘sports car’ maneuverability. The goal was to create a sports car on water. Powered with a Entec Racing 350 cu. in. V-8, the Apprenticeship cruises effortlessly well into the 55 mph range.

The hardware and styles are blends of new and old, both borrowed from the past and fabricated from scratch with wood patterns and bronze castings. Jeffrey’s first ground-up build took top honours on a North America boatshow tour including wins in Tavares, Florida, and Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, and was featured in many publications including the cover boat for the 2020 Classic Boating Calendar.

Margaret Shirley

Allan & T.C. Weisberg commisonned this 30- month project in 2017. After owning 2 original Muskoka boats, they decided they’d like a custom boat, fully suited to all their needs.

At 31′ overall, this modified John Hacker designed hull cruises beautifully at all speeds. Dual gas tanks provide long range for excursions, and her elegant design carries six passengers comfortably.

This high-out 570 HP Ilmor MV8 provides plenty of power, regardless of the load. Every aspect of this craft is custom. From the sand-casted bronze hardware, to the book-matched mahogany deck with exposed copper screw heads, to the “bobtail” transom.

Thunder

This “gentleman’s racer” was custom ordered by the late, great Michael J. Thompson in 1999. Mike wanted a fast wooden boat with sex appeal, and Thunder  provides both. Thunder has participated in Boat shows across North America from Florida to Idaho. These boats are made to use, and this boat is proof of that.

At 27.5′ overall, Thunder is based off Ditchburn’s ”Ranbow III” which was one of the most successful and iconic raceboats of the era.

Built in a 4-seat cockpit configuration, with a forward additonal cockpit, Thunder can carry 5-6 passengers with ease. Powered with a 502 cu. in. V-8, Thunder ‘s performance matches her appearance.

Notable hardware includes an outboard rudder assembly, a vernier aircraft throttle, & tilting period steering wheel. At 20 years old, and having been used as much or more than any boat in Muskoka, this boat’s perfect condition is a testament to their construction method and uncompromising level of workmanship.

The Bentayga features world-first wellness technology embedded within the cabin, providing the optimum balance between ultimate ride comfort, handling and body control. Each experience Bentayga is specified to fit the needs of the experience and feature bespoke purpose-built cargo boxes that fit to the tailgate rails in addition to personalized Preserve puddle lamps and embroidered emblems.

1 – The North Pole Lodge

The kitchen, Traeger barbecue and dining room have everything you need for an unforgettable gathering, then you and your travelers can retreat to the loft or the spacious, comfortable bedrooms. This is the home you need for your dream Alaskan vacation. Plenty of summer and winter activities for everyone.

Accommodation :

North Pole Lodge has 4 bedrooms with 3 full Sd Sd and 2 full Sd Sd-CU.

Great room : large sofa and recliner with large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the backyard and pond. Large 72-inch flat-screen TV available to stream your devices. Floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Kitchen : large kitchen built for entertaining with electric range, oven, water heater, microwave, custom cabinetry, ample counter space. Wine bar includes wine cellar, wine glasses and coffee/tea station.

Dining room : large table seats 8. The large kitchen bar has 3 stools.

Loft : relaxation area for playing guitar or board games.


The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom on the first floor has a king-size bed, two walk-in closets and a bathroom with Jacuzzi and walk-in shower with double showerheads.

The upstairs master bedroom is spacious with a queen-size bed, a full bathroom with Jacuzzi and walk-in shower. The upstairs southeast bedroom has a porch with a queen-size bed and a single bed. It has its own sink, and shares a bathroom with the south-west bedroom upstairs. This room has two trundle beds and an oversized chair with footstool.


The garage is available for one vehicle. Entering the dwelling from the garage, you enter a mudroom with laundry and office area. There is ample parking space on the property.


Just a 25-minute drive from the airport (FAI) and a 15-20-minute drive from downtown Fairbanks, as well as 42 miles from Chena Hot Springs.

North Pole Lodge is the ideal accommodation for your unique Alaskan dream vacation with family or friends. Rent kayaks and paddle boards during the summer or enjoy Aurora viewing from the living room or back porch during the winter months.

This is an ideal property for a large family or friends. All ages are welcome, but please note that the proximity of the lake without gates may be a safety risk for small children.

2 – THE MICA – Panoramic view near Quebec City

The “MICA”, a high-end micro-lodge in the heart of the boreal forest. Enjoy an immersive nature experience just 25 minutes from Old Quebec. Enjoy panoramic views of Laurentian Park and breathtaking sunsets at the highest summit of Lac-Beauport.


The accommodation

With its minimalist design, clean lines and maximum fenestration, this micro-house fades into its surroundings, leaving room for the spectacle of nature. Taking its name from the blond-hued, silvery mineral that makes up Mont Tourbillon’s characteristic rocky outcrops, MICA clings to the mountain and blends seamlessly into its surroundings.

WINTER ACCESS: From November 1 to April 15, an all-wheel-drive (AWD, 4WD) or 4×4 vehicle is required to access the chalet. A shuttle service is also available ($).

Access between the 2 floors is via a ladder inside the cottage or the staircase outside.

Cab and Uber services are not available.

Hidden Valley is a wooded neighborhood that takes advantage of everything Muskoka has to offer.   • In winter, snowshoes are left for travelers’ enjoyment.
  • The wooded forest in the backyard is ideal for a little exploration, but not maintained. The property boundaries are marked with safety posts.
  • Bring your skates! Winter skating on the lake in January and February (weather permitting) on our private neighborhood beach with our beach collar.

 JAEGER-LECOULTRE PRESENTS THE ‘REVERSO STORIES’ EXHIBITION IN THE HEART OF NEW YORK 

This November, Jaeger-LeCoultre invites visitors to discover the world of Reverso through a richly immersive exhibition set in the heart of New York City.

‘Reverso Stories’ was created in 2021 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Maison’s iconic timepiece, and in 2023 the exhibition’s world tour comes to Manhattan for its North American debut. With its remarkable legacy of Art Deco architecture and style, New York is a particularly fitting setting for the celebration of the Reverso’s Art Deco origins. Located at IRON 23, the exhibition will run from November 3 to November 22, 2023. The ‘Reverso Stories’ exhibition arrives just ahead of the grand opening of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new flagship boutique on Madison Avenue.

A fascinating retrospective that leads visitors through nine decades of timeless modernity, ‘Reverso Stories’ reveals the craftsmanship, innovation and design behind the celebrated timepiece and also explores the wider creative and cultural universe surrounding it. Visitors will discover the Reverso story through four key themes: Story of an Icon, Style and Design, Innovation, and Craftsmanship.

The experience is enhanced by an immersive digital art installation by Korean artist Yiyun Kang; a space devoted to the video series ‘In the Making’, which reveals the secrets of the 180 crafts practiced in the Manufacture; a room dedicated to Japanese artist Hokusai, whose works have been reproduced on Reverso timepieces; the 1931 Café serving an Art Deco-inspired menu; and hands-on watchmaking Discovery Workshops within the Atelier d’Antoine. In addition to historic timepieces, the exhibits will include the 2023 Reverso models launched at Watches and Wonders, and two exceptional new Reverso Tribute Enamel models that will be launched during the New York season of ‘Reverso Stories’.

Exploring Nine Decades of Timeless Modernity through Four Stories

Since 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre has expressed its inventive spirit through the creation of many world firsts – including the legendary, patented swivelling case of the Reverso watch. This timeless expression of Art Deco style was born in 1931 on the polo fields of India, with the idea of a case that could be flipped over to protect the watch while playing ‘the sport of kings’. With its revolutionary design and immaculate craftsmanship, the Reverso was immediately embraced by trendsetters from all walks of life, quickly transcending its original purpose and, over the decades, becoming widely recognised as an icon of 20th-century design.

The story of Reverso is told in four chapters. The Story of an Icon, retells the tale of the Reverso’s origins through rarely seen archive materials and milestone Reverso watches from the Jaeger-LeCoultre collection. The Story of Style & Design looks at the Reverso watch as a quintessential example of Art Deco design that remains timelessly modern today, expressing the spirit of the Golden Ratio. The Story of Innovation highlights the insatiable spirit of invention that characterises the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture, from the first brilliant idea for a reversible case, to the development of ground-breaking complications designed specifically for its rectangular shape. The Story of Craftsmanship pays tribute to the engravers, gem-setters, enamellers and guillochage masters of the Manufacture’s Métiers Rares™ atelier, revealing how they have unleashed the full potential of the Reverso as a canvas for artistic expression and personalised messages.

Art Meets Watchmaking 

Set at the heart of the exhibition, Yiyun Kang’s multimedia installation, Origin, was specially commissioned by Jaeger-LeCoultre under its Made of Makers program; a series of artistic partnerships that expands the dialogue between watchmaking and other art forms. Recognized for her immersive audio-visual and projection-mapping installations that recast space with moving image and sound, Yiyun Kang is one of the most active and acclaimed Korean digital media artists in today’s international art scene. Projected onto a very large three-dimensional screen, Origin explores the Golden Ratio – a fundamental concept regarded as the universal signifier of aesthetic harmony in both nature and man-made design – which has been the guiding spirit of the Reverso since 1931.

A Celebration of Craftsmanship

Showcasing the 180 crafts housed under one roof at the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, two spaces are dedicated to particular aspects of the craft and art of watchmaking. One room, ‘In the Making’ is devoted to a series of short films that take viewers behind the scenes, each focusing on a single craft, including rarely seen stages of the watchmaking process, with voiceovers that explain the artisans’ processes in their own words. The ‘Hokusai’ room celebrates the master enamellers of the Manufacture’s Métiers Rares™ atelier and pays homage to the 19th-century Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, whose works have been reproduced as enamelled miniatures on the case-backs of a series of Reverso watches.

An Educational Journey

‘Reverso Stories’ offers visitors a deeper exploration of watchmaking through the Atelier d’Antoine, a hands-on educational workshop that focuses on the Reverso. This Discovery Workshop is available to all visitors by appointment.

Indulge in Pastries Inspired by the Golden Ratio

Completing visitors’ immersion into the spirit of Art Deco, the 1931 Café is an invitation to guests to pause and enjoy a choice of crafted pastries designed by award-winning French pastry chef Nina Metayer, a collaboration under the ‘Made of Makers’ program, inspired by the principles of the Golden Ratio and ingredients from the Vallée de Joux.

The ‘Reverso Stories’ Exhibition will take place from November 3 to November 22, 2023 at IRON 23, located at 29 W 23rd Street, NY 10010. Entry is open to the public and free of charge.

ABOUT THE REVERSO

In 1931, Jaeger-LeCoultre launched a timepiece that was destined to become a classic of 20th-century design: the Reverso. Created to withstand the rigours of polo matches, its sleek, Art Deco lines and distinctive reversible case make it one of the most immediately recognisable watches of all time. Through nine decades the Reverso has continually reinvented itself without ever compromising its identity: it has housed more than 50 different calibres, while its blank metal flip side has become a canvas for creative expression, decorated with enamel, engravings or gemstones. Today, 90 years after the Reverso was born, it continues to epitomise the spirit of modernity that inspired its creation.

ABOUT YIYUN KANG

One of the most active and talented Korean digital media artists in today’s international art scene, Yiyun Kang is recognised for her immersive audio-visual installations that recast space with moving image and sound. After studying in Korea and the USA, she gained her PhD at the Royal College of Art in London. Yiyun Kang’s works have been exhibited in Europe, Asia, and the United States, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale and Shenzhen New Media Art Festival. In 2015–16, she participated in the residency programme of the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), which subsequently acquired her site-specific work for its permanent collection. Alongside her art practice, Yiyun Kang is pursuing a genuine convergence of art, design, technology and science through diverse research and practice. The Canaries 2023 Real Estate and Construction Forum has unveiled a detailed report on luxury real estate on these islands, produced by Idealista, Spain’s largest second-home platform. The percentage of foreign demand for luxury properties in Spain averages around 30%, reaching 37% in Las Palmas and almost 50% in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The most popular products among luxury homes are 3, 4 and 5-bedroom villas priced between 1 and 2 million euros.

Francesc Pujol, moderator of the debate and Director of Real Estate for Arum Group and Abama Luxury Residences, explained that the main objective is to increase the workforce by 20,000 people to cover the potential of the construction sector, and to do this: “It is essential to integrate women into the sector, not only at management level, but also on the building site, as well as young people. We need to call for a sociological change and break down prejudices to be able to solve this problem”, he stressed. Although the number of women in the construction sector is increasing in Spain, their presence remains stronger in management positions.

Holding events outdoors is another trend highlighted at the real estate forum. Very popular in Spain, this allows participants to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. The island’s ideal year-round climate is particularly pleasant for these festivities. Abama’s 160 hectares of grounds, with over 25,000 palm trees, are a veritable tropical garden, and a unique and unusual setting for all types of receptions. The hotel recently opened a new multifunctional open-air event space called Abama Garden. The 3,800m2 space can accommodate up to 1,800 people for corporate, social, cultural, educational, sporting or leisure events, with breathtaking views over La Gomera and the Atlantic Ocean.
